Being a greenhorn dealing with home renovations, I am really glad I have engaged Carpenter Direct. Huiwen has been very responsive to all my enquiries and she tries her best to incorporate the designs and ideas I have suggested. She was able to envision for my home to be functional yet visually appealing. On top of that, she would constantly keep me updated, by uploading photos and videos on the status of the site and the progress of the renovation. Despite a number of limitations in place and working on a tight schedule, I am greatly impressed with her professionalism, she never ceased to think out of the box to resolve complicated and demanding challenges that occurred during the course of the renovation.

The workmanship on the carpentry for my kitchen cabinets were brilliantly done and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. Even after the renovations have been completed, the post-renovation service which included touch up was top notched. The rates quoted were also reasonable, after comparing with a few companies. I highly recommend Carpenter Direct and Huiwen if you wish to have a fuss-free renovation experience and transform your apartment to become a cozy and beautiful sanctuary!

Lara was my ID and god I am glad I found her.

My past experiences with ID firms were really bad; from hidden costs to seemingly never ending delay in the timeline.

At first I was skeptical at the timeline that Lara had provided me. But she was very assuring and given that they had their in house carpentry, it was easy to keep track on the progress of my renovation, especially carpentry works since it takes up majority of the timeline.

Furthermore during the planning process, Lara not only focus on the aesthetics, but more importantly the practicality of the home which many IDs overlook.

All in all, big thank you to Lara and the rest of Carpenter Direct for transforming my home into a serene place where I can completely relax after a long day of work.

Ansel was extremely meticulous with details, keeping us up to date constantly of the entire renovation process, never once belittling us (as we never had much experience with renovations). He would take the extra time and effort to explain to us, show us illustrations, the differences in materials, what would be cost effective and still achieve the effect that we want etc. For our case where some things have already been done, Ansel would find innovative and creative methods to right the wrongs. He is also a very hard worker constantly on-site. My wife and I never had any issues with him as he stuck rigidly to the delivery schedule laid out and the quality of the workmanship that he delivered was truly money well spent. Perhaps the most outstanding quality that we found in Ansel was how accommodating he can be. There was once I had mixed up the dates for delivery of the built in microwave, oven, kitchen hob and hood. In order not to delay the schedule, Ansel personally went down to the warehouse to pick up these items as I was stuck at work that day. This was beyond professionalism and these acts together with Ansel’s strong interpersonal skills made working with him an absolute joy and would strongly recommend him!

Lara was able to provide that for us. She was very responsive throughout the whole process and provided us with her sound advice on what we should consider based on what we wanted and helped with the design and development of the renovation plans for us. She was able to refine our plan into a better one and made it into reality for us. We had multiple requests for her and she was able to make them all happen within the tight timeframe that we asked for.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with this being our first home reno. Will definitely recommend Lara to our friends!

She was patient towards me even though I had no prior knowledge on home renovations; bombarding her with questions on every single details.

Given the current pandemic, I was skeptical about the timeline proposed to me during our discussions, especially on the carpentry works that I have for my home as most firms outsources their carpentry to contractors in Malaysia. To reassure me, Hui Wen invited me down to their showroom, which they have an in house carpentry! By being able to physically see the end products and materials, I was feeling very assured that my home will turn out well and that there is accountability for the services.

Hui Wen was respectful of all my weird home reno ideas which I have plucked from the Internet. She did not just rained down the ideas nor went right ahead with them like other IDs that I met up. She patiently explained the pros and cons of each design and why I should or should not do this or that.

I am glad to say that I was served by Hui Wen and the rest of the Carpenter Direct team.
